DIRECTIVE SYSTEMS
Power dividers are passive devices that are designed to combine
multiple antennas in stacked antenna systems, while providing a constant 50 ohm
impedance over the bandwidth chosen. The advantages of this system are wider bandwidth
and lower loss than that of odd multiple quarter wave cable trimming solutions.
Custom trimming for best VSWR is time consuming. Power dividers provide simple,
repeatable performance improvements for stacked antenna systems. Directive Systems
power dividers, in addition, provide additional advantages.
Directive Systems power dividers are built with 1" square aluminum housings
and female N (UG-58/U) connectors. The connector pins are gold plated, and connector
dielectric is teflon. Center conductors are large diameter brass for almost zero
loss. The all metal construction combined with the two step light blue
paint finish provides maximum protection from the elements. There are no plastic
end caps to crack, leak or work loose. All power dividers are rated for the maximum
power level of the type N connectors used. Our power ratings are conservative,
key down for 30 minutes. The limiting factor is the power handling capability
of the UG-58 N type connector and the mating UG21/U plug. Intermittent operation
over the listed power rating is acceptable for short durations. The standard designs
use 1/4 wave construction for both two and four port varieties. Half wave and
special designs such as three, six, and eight way models are available on special
order. Call the factory for details.
